XMOS Semiconductor is a fabless semiconductor company that develops a range of microprocessor products. This XS1-G development kit enclosure is a low-volume, highly customisable design, used in a variety of configurations to house the sophisticated electronics.
Product design consultancy Brightworks directed the look and feel of the casing and then approached us for prototyping. All three companies worked to finalise the design, which we translated into CAD models and SLA masters. These were used to produce soft tools and several runs of enclosures. We also produced a range of laser-cut acrylic insert panels for the various connector configurations, and screen-printed fascias which incorporated an illuminated glowing blue Xmos logo.
